On this page, I’ll try to track the progress of my writing my book. In addition, I’ll document the tools I am using because I think a number of them are significant. Here’s a list of some of the tools I have chosen so far. I’ll discuss each of them and the role they play in creating the book. I use free services as much as I can, and in the case of Dragon Naturally Speaking, it seems to be the best of breed in that category of speech to text transcription. Once I have it on the page, as it were, I can manipulate it with a text editor so that the process of writing a book is facilitated.
I have received and tested the Verizon MiFi device and found that it works well from Lula, Ga., one of the dead spots I was hoping to be able to connect from. Now I should be able to visit there and still be connected.
I have begun training and testing Dragon Naturally Speaking and it is terrific. It does take some getting used to but it works beautifully. I have created my own Dragon Naturally/Speaking page to focus specifically on this technology.
