The frenzy of departure
Someone once said, «if it weren't for the last minute, nothing would get done.»
Well, I'm now down to the last minute, and much remains to be done before I board my flight. I have confirmed my reservations with Delta, so barring one of them being full and therefore bumping me to a later flight, I should arrive in Berlin by 3:00 PM on Sunday. Next entry to this weblog will on Sunday and made while 4580 miles from home. (This tool can be used to calculate distances between cities all over the world.)

Perry, my very dear friend, what you've written about me leaves me just barely short of speechless, even in writing. I lack adequate words to tell you and all the rest of the world the full measure of how you've enriched my life, and extended my education in so many ways. With you at this moment about to crash and me struggling to greet a brand-new Berlin day, here where clocks show time six hours later than your sluggish Dixie models, I look forward already to our next Skype-natter - but I don't want to close this without saying THANKS again, you polymath phenomenon in human form...!
